Consequences to consuming Illithid parasites?
Can someone please let me know if there are story consequences to consuming the illithid parasites? I'm playing a good alignment character and I really don't want to screw up my playthrough by being a mindflayer's slave...

I just went full role play and refused to use them. I'm not going to make my parasite stronger xD

I'm also playing a good alignment character and I'm refusing to use the parasites and the ilithid powers. But I think this unerving question is a big part of the story and you should wait at least to the end of Act 1 to have more insight into this matter (at least for me it cleared things a bit).

according to reddit you can safely consume a few without getting locked into a bad ending. there is a point of no return that is shown in your character. you go through transformation stages the more you consume tadpoles. ive consumed a few now (3) and nothing so far, ig i'll find out as i progress in the story. also convinced a few character to accept it and im getting shadowheart, lae'zel and astarion to consume them too.

dont quote me on it tho.

Consuming more of the parasites that turn you into a soulless monster that eats brains and enslaves entire civilizations? Nah, what could possibly be the consequence of doing that. /s

No, the consequence is a dialogue choice and will be obvious.
