No, I went there after seeing him in my camp (I camped in the goblin temple so maybe that's why he appeared? Is that where he showed up for you?) because I looked him up and I didn't get the cutscene.

Same, he just showed up in my camp one night and scared tf out of me & my character. The initial chat with him was introductory. I wonder what I missed to not trigger his appearance on the crypt. I did catch all of the checks and disabled the traps and opened the sarcophagi but there where just bones and loot. Had I not seen random youtube vids about how he's supposed to be encountered, I'd have never known nor stumbled across this post.
