Haven't seen it here here unless you count people telling someone who doesn't like resting that they should use more cantrips?
That's just a few individuals.
It is just another bait thread. Best to ignore and carry on.
There is nothing to be done about it though. Let them be them. I enjoy the game also, even though there are some elements (such as the minefield of dialogue that leads to completely unwanted romantic interaction) that could have been done better, but you will NEVER convince one of those obsessive gamers of your point of view. It is something they will continue on just to "win the debate" and it is something that can't be changed...so just be you and enjoy the game is my advice, and avoid those pitfalls arguments with those other elements who simply can't see past the myriad of rules that only they think they know.
Maybe you just had some bad luck?
Anyways, what do you need help with? Add me and I'll try to ease you into the game :-)
I would LOVE for more people to play PnP/DnD but I know getting a group together is hard these days... so for all those people it's good something like BG3 exists.
Enjoy the game; I am
Rule #1 in the GM handbook = that everyone should be having fun, after all
Lol, its all over the place.
"Learn to play"
"That just how dnd works"
"Skill Issue"
Make up most of the responses to anyone complaining that missing in combat all the time is frustrating, or needing to long-sleep regularly to replenish spell slots is tedious. Or that there is a disappointing lack of meaningful character progression through levelling up or obtaining new gear.
Valid criticisms completely dismissed by the dnd crowd who dont seem to be able to comprehend that valid criticisms can be levied against their favourite game.
Despite the fact that the original game is intended to be played with physical dice, primarily as a social experience with friends, and with a DM who can control for poor RNG and set pacing for things like resting.
That's honestly only recently. In EA the atmosphere here was pretty chill for the most part.
The problem with that is the awful "GIT GUD" mentality which is honestly the most childish BS I have ever seen. Everyone there ran around and acted as if the game was extremely easy for them just because they played games like that all day long.
BG3 and ER are REALLY hard videogames. BG3 because there are a lot of mechanics you need to know about and ER because it doesn't really teach you and you need good reflexes.

Keen Smell. The troll has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.
Regeneration. The troll regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn. If the troll takes acid or fire damage, this trait doesn't function at the start of the troll's next turn. The troll dies only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn't regenerate.
Actions
Multiattack. The troll makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) piercing damage.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) slashing damage.
I dont need really any help.
I just voiced an opinion that I like RPG where i have freedom over my character and what I do and that while CRPGs are the ones that fill that nice the best (sadly nowadays a lot of games get called RPG when they arnt simply because you can level some skills like assassin creed etc) I just can't stand the fact that I lose the control of my character to a dice roll (it might be funny in multiplayer because you will fail and your freinds will fail so the losses are distributed but if you play solo in a computer game then all the loss is on you).
I also dislike the rest system because it was made for PnP where you can't keep track of unlimited stuff, but as a PC game a cooldown and cast time system (or AP system like in DOS2) is way more fun. Having to rest after every other fight isn't really fun (once again in PnP you have other people to talk with it's not really annoying you can do banter, but as a solo video game player it feels weird and breaks immersion because you are playing narcoleptics). Plus enemies arn't really limited by cast per day either since they don't have any other fight in their lives than you.
I played many CRPGs with DnD rules and enjoyed story and character interactions but the fights and random skillchecks (having always a 5% chance to fail at even basic stuff (stuff that should be basic if you have enough skill) is quite weird, imagine if you had 5% chance of breaking your fingers while opening a door. Wouldnt have many fingers left) are things that I feel drag the video game experience down.
These make total sense in a PnP setting because of human limitations and because you have a human DM that can salvage bad luck (and also there is no savescumming so it is relevant while in video game you can savescum which makes a lot of rolls meaningless.) and if you die you can just make another character on the spot and no two sessions are the same. But these systems with the rigidity of video games (I acknowledge the great work of Larian in making this probably the most alive CRPG ever though) don't feel good.
I wish there was an option to play with DOS2 gameplay systems instead (but I am sure that to use FR license they needed to comply with implementing PnP rules and seeing what I got called for making a similar post I would understand that Larian doesn't want to try to do anything that could make the PnP crowd unhappy).
