Shadow of the Menzoberranzan missing?

I finished the Myconid stuff with Sovereign Spaw... the vine curtain is drawn back on the room with a dead drow in it and some blue glowy crystals... but there's no helmet on the body or anywhere in the room. Everything I've been reading also says he sends you with a dude to the room, that didn't happen either... Spaw just said his peace and they all started dancing... now he only has one dialogue line when you talk to him. Did they remove this from the game?

Was there a quest related to Myconid colony?
I wiped them all out and I did find the helmet on the dead drow corpse.
