I often look at the biggest complaint people have with a product. If their biggest complaint is something meaningless or outright imaginary, like "woke", then I know the product must be good.

After all, if the biggest complaint people have is a meaningless buzzword, then everything else must be above reproach. Otherwise they'd have real complaints like gameplay, performance, length, difficulty, and so on, that they could express by using real words.

They like to say 'go woke, go broke' but actually companies make a ton of money by being inclusive to everyone. That is why almost all companies that don't cater specifically to the right, are 'woke' because it is the more main stream and normal position. Most people in the US are decent, friendly people, who are okay with people doing their own thing and they don't like bigots. That is why even bigots try to hide that they are bigots, because even they know it doesn't play well.

The only 'woke' stuff that does poorly, is bad quality stuff, and it does badly not because it is 'woke' but because it is bad quality. So yeah, it is completely meaningless. Has anything that was good quality, ever lost out due to being woke? I can't of think of any.

in the end of the day it's a huge smokes and mirror PR crapfest, nothing new - devs all over the world catering to US sensitivities to sell more. It just happens the US sensitivities are this now, not just have blond nuclear families like in the 70s.

What a huge relief, from having one big WASP family forcing themselves into everything, whitewashing history, etc, to have 2 or 3 of those groups, all from the same, richest and most influential country in the world. Do you ever stop and think how "woke" is literally just thrown around for "stuff I don't like"? It used to be something specifically for women (desexualizing them, making them strong, etc.) and now it devolved into something to throw around at literally anything. Don't like that you can kiss women as a woman? Woke! Don't like to flirt with guys even though it's optional? Woke! Don't like that there are no more super Asian stereotypes "who shpeak rike dis"? Woke! Everything is freaking woke! But these people don't even stop to think that most of this stuff is optional. You're literally not forced to do it. The "woke" complaining wasn't even as strong a few years ago. It's only as of end of last year that it's been picking up steam. Maybe some last ditch effort of the insecure masses to intimidate everyone else, but it sure as heck ain't working out the way they're envisioning. Every time I see someone using "woke" unironically, I just dismiss their argument on the spot, because they don't have one. They need to just cope with the world moving forward. Adapt or die, as they say. :)

I certainly believe the inclusion of homosexuality has increased this games popularity. Don't underestimate the amount of gay people in this world.
