Mask of the Shapeshifter DLC item is missing

Has anyone else had this issue? I really want my mask back.

I had the mask equipped and now it's suddenly gone, but the other DLC items are still there

I saw on reddit that 2 other people made posts about this issue and I tried both solutions:

- Deleting local saves folder
- Disable and redownloaded DLC content
(Loaded new and old saves after trying both solutions, and the mask was completely gone from every save file)

Has anyone else had this issue? Did you find a solution?

Haven’t used it yet but I have sold stuff on accident, not sure if that’s your issue tho.
Pretty sure you only get once per character.

Definitely didn't sell it. It no longer exists on any save file, no matter how old the save is.

Sounds like a bug, or camp stash works differently, would assume going back to before you picked up the items from camp it would be there but if not maybe it’s saved differently

This happened to me as well, I noticed yesterday. Then I opened my save file today and the mask came back times two, but the camp clothes are still gone completely. No idea why some items are completely gone, some are still here, I have two of the chests and double of some items now, but other items have completely disappeared from the game. It's bizarre.

Did your mask return in your inventory or in your traveler's chest? I'm just curious what I should look for.

I don't think my mask is ever coming back :(

I don't think my mask is ever coming back :(

I had it on Astarion. It didn't show up equipped, but it did show back up in his inventory, and then a second one showed up in the Traveler's Chest. Anything I had equipped to my personal character disappeared.

I'm currently verifying my game files and making sure the game is updated... We'll see how it goes. I don't think I'm getting my stuff back either :/

Yikes. This seems like a nasty bug, but it's only happened to very few people, so it's probably not getting the attention it deserves.

I hope you get your items back and I get my mask, but I'm not holding my breath. Good luck

Did you at any point launch the game without steam open? All of the deluxe items break once the game is launched without steam running, i ended up launching through steam again once my game didnt crash through steam, and the items were back

Did you at any point launch the game without steam open? All of the deluxe items break once the game is launched without steam running, i ended up launching through steam again once my game didnt crash through steam, and the items were back

Yeah, I launch without steam open every single time. It's a dx11 problem that I'm googling as we speak. I was able to launch the game through steam only a couple times since launch.

thats why the items are gone then. Im going to guess you had the same issue i had so you made both exe launch with admin, try turning that off again and it should fix the issue

K, so... I found a guide that explains how to force steam to launch BG3 through DX11, and the mask is back on old saves, but unfortunately, there's no sign of the mask on my current save, and I'm not willing to roll back to a 10 hour old save :(

Glad the problem is fixed for future playthroughs at least.

I had this issue. It was because I was launching the game outside of steam. Seems it needs to be launched from Steam to load the DLC..
