Shadowheart's "Spear of Night" issue ): (SPOILERS)

I just finished the part of the Nightsong questline, and Shadowheart turned up and yelled at me for not bringing her along, and then permanently left my party. I figured 'oops' and reloaded an old save.

Thing is, now she's demanding that I find the 'Spear of Night' in the Silent Library, but that item is nowhere to be found. I picked up everything out of that room ages ago. Either the spear didn't spawn in the first place, or I sold it along the way and now it's gone forever. If I try to continue this plotline without finding the spear, she attacks me and I have to kill her to continue.

Does anybody have any suggestions for how I can fix/get around this? I'd rather not reload an even older save since I can't even remember how long ago it was I completed those missions. I tried visiting some traders around to see if they'd kept the spear (in case I'd sold it to one of them) but didn't find it, and I'd have no idea which one I'd sold it to anyway. I even tried using an item spawning mod but couldn't find the Spear of Night's ID code.

I really don't want to lose an entire party member over a silly little spear that I shouldn't have been able to sell in the first place if it were this important. I've been trying to find workarounds for this for Hours.

The spear is stored in a hidden chamber in the library. You have to solve the puzzle to get it.

Yeah, I've done that ): I even went and read some guides online just to double check that I'd definitely looked in the right place.

I know where the spear *was*, I just don't have it any more.

Have you already beaten the main guy of the Shadowlands? If so - the whole Shar's Temple gonna be bugged and you can't finish it

cheat engine get a cheat code list online start up your game and spawn it in like so

I ended up backtracking to every trader on the map 'til I found the one I'd sold it to (': took forever but at least I managed to get around it. Thanks though guys!

yeah i do wish they had an icon on items that are meant to be sold and others that are meant to be kept for quests. while yes its a special item not all items are shown as special but still are important for quests. pretty dumb design choice in my opinion

I'm having this same issue right now, only I'm afraid I sold it to either the gith before I killed them or the lady outside the monestary who immediately leaves, so I truly have no way of buying it back. Gonna try item spawning mods to see if I don't have luck that way. Good solution to me would be shadowheart getting mad at you for selling it in the first place and forcing you to buy it back at a minor loss of gold

Yeah the fact you can sell it at all with no repercussions seems like a major oversight. I didn't have any luck using item spawning mods, but hopefully you manage to figure something out!

The entrance to find the spear of night is on the bottom level beside the last trial. I believe to the left beside the soft step trial. Inside the library protected with an antimagic zone.

*Almost* all the quest-related items are protected from selling (including a bunch that are useless after you have read/used them once), but there are a few that are not. I think because the devs never expected that you would do something like sell the spear that you had to jump through all those hoops to get, when you get it right next to the place where you are supposed to use it.
