Kill Goblin Leaders Quest bug

Minor spoilers for Act I ahead

So after entering the goblin camp and killing all the three leaders, the game does not seem to register the death of the last leader I kill, the quest doesn't finish and it keeps pointing to the body of the last leader killed. I've tried killing them in different order, tried killing them with and without Halsin in the party, as well as inside and outside combat (At least with Minthara and the other Goblin, as you can destroy the bridge while they walk), and also tried tossing their bodies on a pit. Nothing worked, and Halsin also doesn't register that they are dead.

Has anyone experienced that before? I know people had a lot of trouble with Halsin getting stuck at the goblin camp after the quest, but the quest glitch seems new to me.

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this? Do you think waiting for a hotfix is worth it or should I just move on and ignore the quest?

Yep. Goblin Area in Act 1 is extremely buggy. I've seen all of the above bugs.. all I can suggest is reload an earlier save, try it a different way. It can be done.. if you're lucky.

This actually worked! Thanks for posting this. I even chucked all three bosses into a chasm with the Elixir of Hill Giant Strenght, which removed their markers, but the quest didn't advance until I killed the last Gobbo suspended in the cage.

Fixed it by throwing one of the bodies into the hole or whatever it's called. The marker was now gone from the map, since the body was gone as well. Quicksaved after this. Tried to dump other bodies, but they were too heavy and I had to reload. The druid completed the quest after this quicksave reload. I guess, fixing that 1 quest marker was enough for the game to go on with the scripts.

How do you throw the bodies? My Karlach cant even lift them

Hey all, so I may have a solution for you, and trust me its odd.

I like to get branded, and go to the room with Gut so I can kill her in peace, which I did this playthrough. I carried on along my merry way, and encountered this bug same as everyone else which I thought was just a one time thing, and it continued through reloads. I began to search the place when Halsin is suddenly MIA, and when I find him he is in a random fight with freaking Priestess Gut. I guess the Absolute wasn't done with her or something, so I finished her off again, got the rewards again, and the quest completed.

was getting this bug too, killed all three leaders but the priest never counted. Tried all of the tips mentioned above but none have worked (throwing the body on chasm or killing the goblin on the cage) The way i was able to bypass this bug was picking up her body, going to camp and putting her body inside the camp chest. that did the trick and halsin appeared as soon as i did this. hope its any help for someone, took me 5 hours of tries to find this out lol

Killed all three, played around the underdark, came up and couldn’t move forward with the quest. Went to visit the leaders dead bodies to speak with them in hopes of fixing bug, but when i went to see minthra she and her minions had spawned again. I killed her (again) and it solved it.

Hm...i killed easily and stealthily inside, after i destroyed all the war drums. Then i went for the leaders. I approached them triggered cutscene, and got to the part where we or they attack. I went in with one guy most of the time as he had a movement speed while dashing of 50m with high init. So he moved first everywhere and ran away pulling everyone into the strike zone. Problem solved:)
(The priest is an exception because i followed her, and since she could not sleep poison, due to being a half elf, we had a fight and she lost easily. The others stood by hidden on in a corner up top:P)
Once i killed everyone i went and saved Halsim while kiling all the goblins there. Then i went ouside and killed all the goblins there as well.
Quest advanced completely normally.

I think somewhere along the line you folks somehow manage to break the quest chain. It is why it resets the leader(s)

I had the same problem today, had to kill all the non-boss enemies. I think it has to do with when haslin gives the warning about keeping him with you meaning you gotta kill everyone. I thought it just meant you’d give up an element of stealth but now I am thinking it’s literal, bc I tried everything but when I killed the last spider in the basement below the last boss fight it immediately triggered haslin to go into the completion cutscene. Try mopping up everything that moves in the camp

Are you using ''Daughter of Lolth'' mod?

If so, summon Minthara AFTER you killed all leaders and talked to Halsin, or you will get this bug

I have killed all the bosses with just my team and nothing happened. Talked to Haslin and he became bear and join me. We killed everyone including guy in cage!!!!

So it looks like the issue lies around combat. I saved Halsin, fought those goblins in that area and when I left the holding pens, immediately engaged in a combat with the surrounding guards, who beat on their drums and aggro'd both Minthara and Gut. (somehow) managed to survive that encounter and went on the clear the rest of the place.

Got the same bug, and scoured the entire compound for anything that I might have missed.

In that encounter with Minthara, there was a SINGULAR rat that was still hostile to me, not in combat, but a red marker on the map. Killed it. Boom. Halsin was good.
