Charcoal

I'm in act 3 and some times when I pick up items they turn into charcoal. Anyone else have this happen to them or know what's causing it?

Yes I have the same issue. No idea what causes it though. Reloading mostly fixes it for a while.

Do you have 'Unlucky Thief's Gloves' equipped? One of the rewards from the circus djinn.

I don't remember if I did have them or not. I thought it was one of the big lore books that I picked up that maybe had a curse in it. After I put the books into storage at camp it never happened again,

I've found charcoal in the game itself. 3 pieces of it so far, and no, I do not even have the Genie Gloves. I'm guessing they are one of those items they intended on using, probably for a real crafting system that they never got around to finishing. I guess for now charcoal itself, if not an item that was transformed into it via sneaky Djinn mittens, then they'll remain a mystery item, like the bag of ashes you find in the secret room in the Last Light cellar. No info at all on that darn "Pouch of Ashes". No description, just an item weight of 0.4 and a small gold value. Kinda eerie really. I think I may have been walking around with one of the Selunite mason brother's ashes bouncing off my hip for the last 50 hours. Heh, I'm still keeping them on one of my characters though. Who knows, maybe I'll stumble on to something. I should have brought them back to th secret Selune temple under the Goblin Camp when I still had access to see if that did anything. Probably not, but I assume there are still things in the game people have not figured out. Like the numbers in the back of Barcus' log? Heh, if these are all things they started to put in then forgot about/decided to squish wtv quest/backstory there was I'll be a little irked as I've spent almost as much time on those things as I have typing out this post ;^) .
