Question: is Mountain Pass Act2?

when i found the Mountain Pass (top left of overworld), interacting with it gave me a prompt that was the same as entering the Cursed Shadow Lands.

this led me to believe that Mountain pass is Act2. but reading what some people say on here, they say Mountain pass is still Act1.

TLDR: is Mountain pass Act1 or Act2?

I had this same concern as well.

I think its ACT 1 because shouldn't ACT 2 start when you hit moonrise towers? Both the UNDERDARK and Mountain pass's main objective is to get to Moonrise tower. So I assume its act 1.

As someone trying to clear everything, I am in the process of going back myself and completing mountain pass, after having just finished the underdark.

It's act 1. It acts as another entry point to the woods which you can even find.

If that were the case, why is both objectives for the main quest 'GET TO MOONRISE TOWER' both the main aspect of the underdark and mountain pass?

Talking to Halsin or just even hearing from people about mountain pass - main goal for that place to exist in game is its a path to moonrise.

Halsin said its "harder" or something to that effect, so underdark maybe the best option in his opinion.

I understand that there are multiple ways (havent found or heard of that myself,) but just because there are doesn't mean its act 2.

It LITERALLY doesn't say Act 2 TILL you get to moonrise tower......

Officially, you get the act 2 achievement when you step into the shadow cursed lands... but in my opinion, mountain pass can be considered act 2 since it happens completely separately from the other act 1 areas and starts big chains of events in the story.

Maybe act 1.5 if you will

I took the Moonrise Towers route to the next town. After that I was curious to see how the mountain pass was different, and was pleased to see some additional content.

So i still dont know if i can do the underdark and the mountain pass before act 2

Act 1 is everything before the shadowlands, which are act 2. And yes, the pass and Underdark are act 1 still.

I have done everything in Act 1 EXCEPT Mountain Pass. I did everything in the Underdark and Grymforge. Now I am getting to the tower via Mountain Pass. All act 1 and you can complete both aspects.

Act 1: the early game forest area + Underdark + Grymforge + Mountain Pass.

Act 2 starts once you enter the Shadowlands.

However be careful: going to Mountain Pass will pretty much abruptly end most of the quests you still have in Act 1.
The game tells you so, however.

So basically do Mountain Pass last.
