Everything. EVERYTHING I've read about this game told me to investigate everything and don't worry about consequences about accomplishing certain quests in a timely manner because there are none that require you to complete within a certain amount of time. After waiting for over 3 years and putting in over 300 of gameplay playing every possible scenario of the early access game, I was excited to start. .... .... THE TIEFLINGS DIE IF YOU DON'T STOP THE DRUID RITUAL ASAP. By the time I found this out, I had already tediously, over hours and days of gameplay of collecting every thing under every rock. Now my options are 1) convince myself that I don't care about the Tieflings all dying and just proceed or 2) go back and do an INSANE amount of WORK (not play) to get back to were I want to be. I have progressed so far and I'm playing a paladin, so I wanted to save the Tieflings. Maybe I'll just pretend that Larian and all of the morons who post about this game online are just a bunch of terrible DMs who ruin experiences for you and waste your time. This game is awesome. I cannot wait to leave chapter 1 after playing it for over 300 hrs. But ♥♥♥♥ me, I'm about to throw my computer out the window because the thought of putting in even more time in "playing" (not fun) chapter 1 for the bajillionth time makes my brain twitch and my vision go red. I'm FKNG ANGRY BEYOND EXPRESSION! Either that, or I have a tadpole in my brain. DON'T TAKE ADVICE FROM PEOPLE ONLINE THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE F THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT.

no
the scenario is not tied to "time"
it's tied to choices or actions
you can long rest, spend as much time as you want, you do not have to stop anything asap
but if you make certain choices, things happen...that's how it's supposed to be

I cleared all but the goblin camp including some of the underdark before I went to free the druid and stop the ritual. No issues. No problem with how much time taken. You must have made some action or choice that prompted the death of the tieflings like the other poster said.

haha i did the something similar - doddled around doing everything in act 1 then some message came that i failed a quest because someone left the area - honestly though , i was not paying attention and just moved on , its fine , choices have consequences , it will matter but not much, i think i goty a bunch of tieflings killed later , haha their gone and im still here - too bad for them

Well, based on Divinity OS 2, events happen depending on the order in which you start quests/dialogues/locations and many other decisions. By ignoring this quest for too long, you must face the consequences. In any case, it is better to continue playing and then try to play the game again with other characters and decisions. + I can advise from time to time not to forget to save manually, especially if you feel that something will happen now.

Just do seperate runs/playthroughs
Play kalasha or custom great do all in your power to save them thoeflings
Play the frog skip/kill all and go to the creche

Just be ok with stuff failing here and there do multiple plays and save a bit more often if needed

Why would you be angry? This is VERY obvious and the story makes it very clear that if you don't do something they will all die. FYI, you can complete the game completely normal without saving them. So saving them is not needed to complete the game.

You can stop the ritual in several ways

1. Rescue the head Druid. He's puts that witch in her place, then he will join your party, but as a non playable character for the most part. This is the best choice in my opinion, and it's not very hard to do. It's a lot easier if you rescue the goblin trapped in the Druid camp as she will get you into the goblin camp and you don't get hostile until you basically rescue the Druid. You don't have to rescue the goblin, but it just makes things a bit easier.

2. Kill the b*tch Druid who's temporarily in charge. Although this can also have some nasty consequences .... you might want to not deal with lol. Although, there are ways to kill her so the Druids don't know that you did it 😈😈😈😈😈

3. Steal the idol so they can't complete it. Kol the child thief leader gives you this quest. Many people miss the part about getting access to the thieves area of the Druid camp, and it's not all that easy to get either. However, you don't have to discover them to steal the idol. Stealing the idol is not very hard to do if you use the right strategy and character.

There might be other ways, but those are the only three that I know of and have tested.

The game literally gives you every every opportunity and multiple ways to stop that ritual. So I'm still not sure why you're angry about this.
