No.

Just have some restraint if you don't like save scumming.

Nope. It almost encourages it with the way the fights are designed lol

No, but save scumming is it's own punishment.

No. Be free to have fun as you want.

it doesn't. it also doesn't really require it. lot's of ways to improve your rolls, some inspiration rerolls and sometimes the outcomes of fails are actually branches to follow.
Besides, I wouldn't like to punish myself with the reload times (in spite of fast pc) just to reroll dice for most of the occasions.

BG1 and 2 did, to a degree. If you were spent on HP and healing spells and tried to camp (or whatever they called camp back then) you were almost guaranteed to be interrupted if you saved before sleeping.
I remember one situation where I was spent. Three characters were basically on life support and the other three were pretty close. I was save scumming on it and it was something like six times before I could either sleep through the camp or beat the enemies and then sleep through it.

Baldur’s Gate 3 summed up in three words: Scumming and Bumming.

Use your inspiration instead of save scumming on rolls, and try to reload only if you did something accidental (like the number of times I accidentally drank a potion when trying to split stack, or shot at the floor instead of moved) or you were doing a science experiment to learn the mechanics.

Or don't, but you really don't have to save scum. You do have to quicksave a lot though because ♥♥♥♥ you if you think I'm going to replay the inventory sorting game before doing something as an experiment or any of those aforementioned misclicks.

yes, by making you wait more than 10 seconds on the loading screen every time even on an ssd.

Nah, you can save scum through the entire game. To me would make the game boring as you never fail a check outside of combat.

Y'all have to get over this save scumming thing. The term itself is inappropriate.

If I haven't saved for a bit and am about to go into a room with a bunch of baddies while at 1/2 health, what am I supposed to do? Not save first? What's the difference between saving there and the auto-save from a half hour ago? What if I get killed? Can I NOT reload a save and have to start over? That's no fun. This isn't Dark Souls.

There's a difference between convenient saving and save scumming. If I get a bad roll I'm not going to reload a save. That's ridiculous. I'm also not going to be concerned with the people who do that sort of thing. Who cares?

Nope.

Keep Calm and Reload On.

One thing I’ve noticed is the content of dug up chests are less if you reload the game prior to opening the chest. The chest originally had a lot of items in it and when I reloaded, it only had less than half of what was there. So in a way, I do think they punish you. Unless this is a bug of course.
