How fun is the fighter class ?
I mostly play melee classes in those games and I saw that fighter can use heavy armor (I love to look buffed and heavy armors often look the coolest)
And fighter can use most weapons so fighter spoke to me.
But how casual or non special is he ? When reading about the class it feels like he can do alot but nothing really fun or cool like other classes.
Can you switch between classes and stuff or is fighter fun ? I am always "scared" about being stuck with a class that is super boring in the end just because I wanted to have the more cooler armor.

If you want different fun shenanigans without magic, pick Battle Master subclass of fighter. It gives you plenty fun maneuvers to pick.
Also, yes, certain npc can respec you.

Fighter's pretty fun.

You can respec in camp for 100 gold. You can farm 100 gold pretty fast.

Classes aren't gender locked.

Fighter is great if you like hitting hard, hitting often, and being tanky. The different subclasses can make things even more interesting.

You can change classes after doing a certain quest pretty early in the game, so don't worry about being locked into anything, just experiment.

You can steal it back, too, btw.

And yes: it's fun. I enjoyed it a lot.

And you can respec for 100 gold easily once you find a certain NPC (found rather early if you do some searching in the beginning area)

Not much. Out of all the melee classes I found only the Barbarian to give any sort of interesting game play. I was recommended the Paladin for new players but it was so boring.

You can always respec if you are disappointed. It's not even expensive. Also, you can get heavy armor on other classes, such as Paladin, or even multiclass/take feats to get heavy armor on any class.

Fighters have some useful stuff early on, but they only really open up at level 3. Taking a Battlemaster subclass gets you options from a list of Maneuvers that can have strong impacts on a fight. Eldritch Knight isn't anywhere close to as powerful as a real spellcaster, but access to utility spells (i.e. featherfall or fog cloud) makes a huge difference in the right moment.

You can switch classes at any time once you find a certain npc early in act 1, you can also multi class. Fighter can be pretty fun in this game, there heavy armor can makes them pretty hard to hit. The special moves that weapons have also make fighter nice to play. Fighter is a pretty easy class to play to as besides the weapon moves and a few ranged weapon attack they mostly melee attack and push.

If you decide the fighter is not for you then you can always try barbarian, there kind of similar but barbarians don't wear have armor naturally. This is also before we talk about fighters and barbarians sub classes.

Lae'Zel is already a fighter class, so, give her a try while granting your main character a different class.

Fighter is a powerful, reliable class and it's always a great idea to have one in your team. Being generally straightforward by nature it makes Fighter relatively boring pick though. Fighter-Champion is probably the definition of boring, Eldritch Knight seems like Fighter+Wizard novice package. Fighter-Battlemaster appears to be the most optimal and fun choice, you select few abilities which may provide more damage, control, support, etc. If you have Withers in your camp you can always respec.
Asgo Aug 8, 2023 @ 3:27pm
and you can multiclass fighter with a lot of other stuff if you like a bit variation on top of it.

I disagree about a fighter champion being boring. A person can be boring, not a class. The fighter champion is fun with different type of weapon, I like to charge, cleave and making someone bleed. In fact, being a gamer for a long time, every class is well known. The healer is going to heal, the wizard is going to make spell, the rogue is going to be sneaky, the ranger with a bow, and so on. My first character is always that white male fighter trying to be a champion.

Fighter Fun

Basically, mage classes are fun because they get cool spells and cantrips to play with. Melee classes get fun equipment to play with.
