Paladin/Sorcerer or Paladin/Warlock?

Hi all! Which One Is more versatile and interesting between those two multiclasses?

Neither. Think you want to do Sorc/Warlock if any. Other than that I'm not sure the best way to do it.

I prefer Paladin/Warlock, but that's just my preference. Pact of the Blade makes it so you can just dump strength and focus entirely on charisma as your all-around damage stat, giving you a lot of points to play around with.

It's a cheap, effective and strong multiclass in 5e

You get to go all CHA and get extra attack from warlock. Yes it would currently stack with extra attack from 5 pal but that's a bug that will get fixed I suspect. 5 sorc gives you fireball and twincast haste and a bunch of extra spell slots for smites.

that's actually a great idea, considering the limitations were removed in BG3 in comparison to 5e. Damn

Paladin/Warlock is way better than Paladin/Sorc.

Multiclassing warlock let’s you take Pact of the blade and use Charisma to attack, so you won’t have to max Str AND Cha. You can run with minimal strength this way, so you can melee via Cha, and still use Warlock spell slots to fuel Smite.


All that considered, I still like Warlock/Sorc to quicken Eldritch Blast for the ultimate cannon.

You could also do 2 Tempest Cleric instead of paladin. Instead of smites, you get to toss maximized lightning bolts 3 times per rest at double max damage because you cast create water (also a level 1 cleric spell pickup) on them first.

Also you gain lightning thorns on your melee build.

Apparently the Deepend Pact extra attack stacks with the Paladin extra attack, so if you want 3 attacks per action, there you go.

Mind you, this is probably a bug and presumably will be fixed at some point.

I just forgot you can multi class with more than 2 classes. I just stopped thinking about it.

Thanks for all the answers, there are a lot of cool ideas, pact of the blade looks so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool, with the initial lvl on paladin Is good for an early heavy armor

I’m certainly no expert, I’m on my 6 melee build and IMO, paladin (6) sorc (6) is the funnest and strongest I’ve played. By a long shot.

Twinned Haste > You can do it 2 times per long rest at Level 5 Sorc by expending 1 spell slot (You can just drink the Eilixir of Arcane cultivation to get 1 spell slot back), and do it 2 times. Its extremly powerful. Then drink Eilixir of vilgence. Quicken haste is just way too powerful on frontline classes.

Honestly, with the way the game changes Bladepact do a 6/6 split Lock and Paly.

Start with Paly for Heavy Armor with 16 or 17 Cha, 16 Con, nothing else matters statwise. Get the +2 Cha hat. Get Cha to 20 (22) and rejoice in using that +6 stat to attack and damage and add it to everyone's saves w/in 10'.

There's a paladin / warlock combo in 5e that lets you destroy with eldritch blast at level 5 more so than it already does. I haven't played Paladin in BG3 yet so I am unaware if this is in the game.
