why is it so easy to accidentally steal stuffs??

This sucks! I was just trying to pick something off the ground and I accidentally stole something nearby. And again when I was just trying to advance the conversation but at the end my character automatically stole something from the table due to fast mouse click.

Stealing should be limited to when you're crouching or just assigned to another button. This is so dumb....

i keep having this problem too and i am shocked that so few search results come up for this. only way i might be able to play this game is with a controller and that in itself is its own struggle

Trust me, using controller is FAR WORSE in this regards because controller has no cursor and the selection is so random and makes it even more likely to accidentally steal something.

If you play as a barbarian then this isn't a problem, since you can just intimidate your way out of any crime.

not good from a roleplay perspective since not everyone wants to play as a thieving thug.

Same problem, had a battle over an hour long. Finished it PERFECTLY. Everyone rejoices. I go to buy something and accidentally steal something worthless. Entire town wants to kill me now. I've now spent 4 hours trying to re-create that perfect win from the previous save... over an apple. :(
