Anyone else disappointed about the lack of companions dialogues?
Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the game and I've put more than 100 hours since release, but something has been bothering me, companions.
They have so little to say and we rarely interact with them, most of the time it feels way too rushed, their stories progress way too fast and we learn everything about them in so little time. It just feels like Larian could've done more with them, another thing that's been bothering me is the lack of reaction towards important events such as
killing Lae'zel in the Gythianki temple, or Halsin getting kidnapped by Orin.

Anyone else wishes Companions could have been like in Bioware games such as Mass Effect 3 or Dragon Age Origins? reactive and with many dialogues and banters? I feel like many of Baldur's gate 3 companions are wasted opportunities and it's kinda sad.

This game just makes me want to play Dragon Age Origins again in general.

Yes, it's one of my greatest disappointments in the game. The dialogues of the game would have been so much richer if all 4 party members more actively participated in them.

The game is incredibly short. If you're not trying to uncover every secret in the game you can get through the game really quickly. Making replay ability very low.

Most of the content is front loaded into ACT 1 and the pacing is atrocious. They really should have made the game longer.

The game's good but it's really lacking in scale.

it's not just that, it's the fact that
I'm in the middle of act 3 and I've finished most of the companions questlines, and it's shocking to see that there is nothing left for them and now the game is becoming empty and boring since all of them ran out of content and they became mute followers, even the romances are bad and poorly paced and they end after sex :(

I like companions like flowers: beautiful and silent.

I agree with you. 30h of gameplay here, loving the story and all the characters but I miss that funny or sad reactions of the companions that make you think about your decisions as it was in DA Origins and Inquisition.

Then you should hire hirelings, I believe most of Baldur's gate 3 players are Bioware fanatics like me who love talkative companions.

I couldn't help but notice that some characters are very "inspired" by dragon age franchise. Astarions is basically a mix of Morrigan and Dorian. Shadowheart is hardened Leliana. Gale is a gay version of Alistair, and so on. But anyway as least is a good inspiration.

it's hilarious that no other game manages to add impactful choices like Origins did, a game that came out 14 years ago.

Same issue from Divinity 2: companions have a small quest in each Act, and other than that they never say anything.
Imagine if we had inter-party dialogue, like waking up during a Rest to find Shadowheart and Lae'zel at each other's throats, fighting about some stupid ♥♥♥♥, having to side with one over the other.

I don't have to imagine, already happening :(, no more dialogues in camp for me.

Personally I don't like most of the companions, They're really annoying. I kill the Gith and Asterion the moment I see them. Gale gets a pass because he's linked to some pretty cool characters. Wyll is also cool because the quests/characters he's tied to are cool. The druid guy is boring but he's ok. Karlach and Shadowheart are fine companions, Not many annoying interruptions when long resting and they have interesting backstories. Minthara is dead? having a recruitable enemy kinda results in that characters death since enemies don't last long. I just got Jaheira so I don't really have an opinion yet and there's one more dude that I haven't seen yet but I'm sure based on most of the other companions, he has a high chance of ending up dead.

yes, it's very dumb when an absolute stops you and talks to you as if you were the only true soul present, very immersion breaking.

My companions are constantly chattering among themselves. It's really quite amusing. Especially how thirsty Gale is for Lae'zel. LOL

they don't do much else except script chatting between them, there is so little interaction between the player and them and they always stay in their tent reading or meditating.
