Report a translation problem
Regarding the map marker, that's apparently a known bug. So this chest might have multiple bugs going on with it. :)
The only things inside were just a Scroll of Evidence, like 13gp and a random item. Tried reloading and killing the mimics again, same thing.
The only reason I learned there was supposed to be something else in there (Harper Amulet which I guess triggers a quest), some +1 weapon, +1 Armor and a scroll of Identify, was after all the trouble it took to open it (I went through like 9 thieves tools to unlock it), what I found inside made me go "hmm, that's it?"
So I searched online about it and found out something wasn't right. Smells like a bug.
Yeah, well, I'm about 42 hours into my first full playthrough (I played ~33 hours in early access, right up to the boats in the Underdark, just when the game first dropped as Early Access, and then decided to shelve the game entirely until final release).
At this stage, it seems in addition to not being able to acquire the Harper Amulet or running that whole questline, sometime around the goblin camp/hidden sanctuary (about 24 hours in), Gale stopped talking to me and now my only options when I speak with him are "Join my party"/"Leave my party" or Leave (dialog). I can't get him to progress his story, I can't even "feed" him magical gear. I obviously noticed this way too late because if I noticed it sooner I would have just reloaded an earlier save, but I'm not going back from 42 hours back to 24 hours in...
Until Larian can squash all these pretty severe bugs, I kind of wish there was a hidden NPC or cheat-code or something we could use to fix the bugs that are showing up (e.g. giving ourselves a quest item; resetting an NPC partymember's dialgoe and/or approval rating, etc.).
[EDIT]: I should mention that in terms of performance and stability, the game runs perfectly, has not so much as stuttered or hanged or crashed and it's exceedingly optimized so whoever worked on that aspect knocked it out of the park.
Do you mean down past the ancient forge?
I found the stash / "chests" before finding the marker
As I got the marker (much much later) it was already looted and thus never gets removed
(I didn't use the light spell - just good'old lockpicks to spawn the last chest)
The only magical amulet in Grymforge is the Sentient amulet and it is a different treasure.
The only magical armors are the Dark Justiciar Mails and the chain shirt you get from Thrinn.

Yes the amulet is quite sentient and scared the crap out of me when I picked it up.
