Shouldn't the Everburn blade be of a higher rarity then uncommon?
it got a guaranteed 1d4 fire damage, that's is way better then 90% of all the rare weapons i have found which have only a conditional 1d4.

The only downside which i can see is that i can't apply poison to it, because it is after all everburning.

Also shouldn't this weapon be immun to heat metal?

It’s really not that great. I prefer the +1 to hit and damage over the 1-4 fire.

I understand the +1 to hit, but isn't +1 to damage worse than 1-4 fire?

Not if you hit 5% more often.

It's hands down the best early game weapon for derpy raw DPR but you don't have to go too far into the game for it to be deprecated by better gear.

As for how it compares to other options, it really depends on your build.

Imo "uncommon" is a suitable rarity for it.

Maybe the sword just isn't that rare of an item in Avernus.

It seems fine for what it is. It's a nice bonus for an easy fight where the mindflayer does all the tanking and most of the damage for you.

Would actually be disappointing if it's so good that it overshadows what you'd find for most of the early game since it would become almost required to get it.

That tracks. I mean, have you SEEN how much stuff is on fire there?

You can dip a sword in fire and so you can still get the fire bonus. The sword already being on fire basically just saves you the bother and a bonus action

I mean seems pretty great to me considering I didn't need another weapon through all of act 1. BUT it's still a lower level weapon nonetheless so not surprising it would be green as well.
