Daredevil Gloves bug?

I was wondering if anyone else is having the same issue as I do.

I'm using Gayle for my caster. I've looted the *Daredevil Gloves*. When you read the information on the gloves:

Doom Lobber: The wearer gains a +1 bonus to Spell Attack Rolls.

Daredevil Proximity: Your Ranged Attacks are made as melee spell attacks when you are
adjacent to a hostile creature. This effect can be toggled off.

Problem is, I have +8 spell attack without the gloves and I go + 7 (so -1) while wearing them.

Anyone else?

I got them from the Githyanki crèche quartermaster.

it seems that most of the gloves are kinda buggy. They nerf the stats instead of buffing them. I've noticed that with several gloves.

These gloves also sometimes cause your spell attacks to be permanently converted to melee attacks in battle. It's easy enough to fix, just unequip them for anyone with the same issue. But it's very annoying in battle to deal with it, as that means that you can only cast your range spells 3m away from you.

You don't actually need to take them off, you can toggle the melee/ranged mode on and off and that fixes it too.

These gloves are particularly annoying when the creature in melee range is not the one you want to target.

I was not happy when my sorcerer ran right into the battlefield to to cast fireball at close range

I've found that if you kill the creature in melee range, or hit it out of melee range, that toggle becomes unavailable.

Meaning that I've lost actions to this bug. Quite annoying.

Ive ran into the problem with these gloves where even if i unequip the gloves, my ranged spells are only useable as melee. i dont have the option to turn it off in the passives tab either. anyone know of a fix to this?

Yes, same thing happened to me. They nerfed my spell attack bonus from +8 to +7
