What does "Lucky" trait do?
I was under the impression that you retry a roll but multiple times i've had an enemy get a crit 20 which then i try to re-roll and i get hit with a crit anyway. Are hit chance and crit chance two seperate rolls?

Doesn't it just allow you to re-roll 1's on attacks, checks, and throws???

Yes, you spend a luck point to reroll one of your rolls.

There is one well there are a few ways of rerolling enemy attacks like Vicious Mockery

And your crit and hit are the same thing there are things in the game that can lower the number needed to crit however making you able to crit on say a 18 or 19 roll also.

So if you did get crit still it just means they rolled really lucky twice in a roll

The game gives me a chance to use it everytime i'm about to miss or get hit.

That's the trait, there is a lucky feat as well that also works on enemy attacks, but has only 3 charges per long rest.

@OP Hit chance and crit should be the same roll, though I don't have the feat so I can test this myself.

I see, i'm just unlucky then. That, or the Karmic Dice has some weird interactions with it.

If you mean the feat, double check your reactions tab. Frustratingly, many reactions (like opportunity attacks) aren't turned on to prompt you by default and the character will just let people run past if you don't change it. Could be the same with the Lucky feat.

Its amazing. Every time your about to fail a roll, it gives yo a popup and a chance to reroll

Any idea how to use the points to give yourself advantage?

No they are one in the same. You were just simply unlucky.

To hit a crit, the attack roll needs to hit a 20, which is pretty much a critical success. or if they have some type of perk that allows them to a hit a 17-20 or something for a crit.

So what most likely happened is, the enemy, hit a 20 on the dice, you forced them to reroll, and dude hit another 20.

It can happen. I once had advantage on a CHR roll in dialog, so i rolled both dice and they were both a 1. critical failure. SMH got dammit. Yea, it can happen bruh.

Which is why i dont use the luck points on enemy rolls. I use it purely to get advantage on my attack rolls. my rogue has it so if I cant get sneak attack advantages, then i use the lucky perk point to gain advantage. They cant hit me if their dead.

If you expand the battle log, using the button on the lower right of the UI, you can view the rolls and all the bonuses applied, for both enemies and your characters.

In the log, hold the mouse over the damage number and it will tell you the Numbers rolled for both to hit and damage, and then break out all the bonuses applied to each as well.

I swear the Lucky Feat's enemy reroll is broken.

I have Lucky on my tank, and every time an enemy has Crit I've used it to force them to reroll. And every time my character has still been critically hit. The odds of that are very, very dubious.

Yes if that is unchecked though. Otherwise it is automatic and you could miss it like the other poster mentioned.
