Spoiler question about areas being locked out
Don't read this question if you don't want to be spoiled about anything at all.

Can anyone answer something for me please that's completed act 2.
I went through underdark and I'm now in act 2 and about to start the gauntlet of shar, however, I'm also wanting to do the mountain pass because I got a tip that there is an ace weapon you get legendary that's good for healer type clerics . Though now I'm worried about doing the gauntlet with shadowheart as I've heard it locks you out going to act 1 or the mountain pass and getting the legendary weapon...can anyone tell me if this is accurate? Can I leave the temple of shar before I complete it and go to mountain pass and obtain the legendary item and then come back to temple of shar. Or does doing one lock the other,? I find it wierd if doing shar temple first locks mountain pass but not the other way around, so I expect I'm screwed either way.

Thank you, basically I have a build I'm mind for shadowheart and the weapon from mountain pass is part of it.

So long as you haven't hit the "this is the point of no return" you can do stuff in the moutain pass.

The game will tell you, if you're about to cross that threshold. IF you're still in the shadowlands doing stuff, you can still do mountain pass stuff

THAT BEING SAID

I think there is a point in the gauntlet of shar (I think basically the finale of it) where you can have world changes that affect the world, but not lock you out of areas, if that makes sense. Once again, the game WILL WARN YOU beforehand if there is going to be a major change in the state of the world before progressing

Thank you for replying mate. I did get that message when I entered the elevator from underdark to act 2. I think I will just teleport to act 1 now and try mountain pass first. Thank you buddy

Oh! That point is basically saying "hey, you're leaving act 1" I don't think that underdark/grymforge is act 2

Edit: Am dum dum, didn't read properly, you are correct underdark and mountain pass are still act 1
