Baldur's Gate "No Control in Story Event"

Hey Guys, maybe someone of u could help me. always when i try to use the forge, this notification showed. also, i didnt triggerd the quesline... some help out there?

I'm no where near the forge yet. Heck I've not even gotten close to the underdark. LOL

Its happening because you've clicked on one of the forge components that want you to put something into it. Either Mithral or a mould for a weapon/armor. when you click on the forge something should pop up on screen, a little window for you to insert something.

try drag and dropping the item into the slot. that worked for me

You need to put the Mithral Ore (2 can be found on Grymforge itself while exploring and also a Mold (I think there is 6 in total) into the forge slots but also be prepared for a boss fight afterwards.

This is broken. I had the same problem and I had to select the item (mould or mithral) and throw it on the ground, then close my inventory , then drag and drop the item from the ground into the Hud widget (where it says insert item ). I tried double click on the item in inventory and it did not work.

The suggestion from tropological worked for me. I droped the items to the ground and draged it to the insert dialog.

I had a problem too, when I clicked on the forge and the mould the game showed me "No Control in Story Event" and I didn't have the selection menu to insert something in the slot. The solution for me was to drag the items into the slot directly from the inventory.

I am playing honor mode, i did not know what was happening when it happened he first time. i was attempting to move across the forge during the battle and accidentally clicked on the forge to insert the Mithrill. In doing so i my character froze up and was no longer able to move and ended my characters turn immediately. That and my other 2 characters soon died without the other to help distract and do damage. luckily i kept my 4th character up top so they can escape and revive the others. After some research i learned it was from activating the forge and that i needed to satisfy that action. So in the attempt to sneakily do so my other 2 active characters they are now frozen as well. Now i have 3 people standing around Withers unable to do anything after being revived. I have even killed them in an attempt to reset them spending loads of gold to revive them again. hopefully this gets fixed soon

This is the same issue I'm having. I'm currently on honour mode. After the bug, I had Lae Misty Step up. Everyone else died. Now Lae'zel is the only one who can move. I even had her pop a fly potion and bypass the Gith in Act 1 to get to Act 2 to see if it would reset the chars (I killed all 3 party members after using Withers to res them). They all remain bugged even after going from Act 1 to Act 2.
