Could you make screenshots?
Technically it is possible what you intend to, but the other stuff you mentioned might be in the way - so it is best to check on that first. Otherwise, creating another profile and copying your stuff over is the way to go.

Okay i hope this works, so here are the files i have in my profile folder, all from 2022
Mhm. I see. Could you check the content of Public subfolder?
That is the folder which is supposed to hold your current profile and campaign, while the others are dormant/unused.
You can tell by going to the subfolder Public -> Savegames -> Story and there find your current save games.
Thanks a lot, the recent saves are here, i don't know why the folder appears as modified only in 2022 lmao
I'll just delete the dormant profiles ig
How do i properly copy/paste the campaign though ? If i just copy/paste it will just appear twice as the same campaign once in-game right ?
You are correct.
The problem we have to workaround here is: how to activate a second profile?
For that you need to launch an additional instance of the game, by launching it directly from the executable. Have you done that before? Otherwise, for convenience of screenshots, I like to link this

With that done you are halfway to your goal. The game has created for the second instance a debug profile which you can actively use as secondary profile

By copying the Savegames subfolder over from Public to the Debug_Client_Profile_1 one, you duplicated your save game in a separate profile.
That is you goal.
But here comes the workaround you need to know: whenever you want to use that secondary profile you need to go through those two instance launching again.
So ~
when you play solo - you start the game normal, as usual. No extra steps needed.
When you play with your friend, you start the two instances, and then close the first instance, so you play with the secondary profile.
Sounds more difficult than it is, but it is along the lines "to use B, you must start A first - once A and B are on, turn off A, so you can play with B".
Let me know if something is unclear or you have more questions about that.
About the dormant profiles:
it is for the normal user better to just ignore them, since it is a little hard to access and remove them properly. But interested people can use this

Okay so it seems like it is working, so thanks a lot for that :D
Another question, do i HAVE to keep my friend's character in the party ? Can't i just remove him somehow ?
Currently there is no option/function to remove their character from the party. I wonder if it is an oversight or by design. Right now you should only play like you plan to: in separate profile/separate savegame, with someone who is commited to play together until the end.
Otherwise you might experience like me: it often does not work out and you might have to start alone all over.
My personal recommendation is currently: have a solo playthrough with your main character you want to play.
And start a second playthrough with someone you want to play together, with the character having a different name, and play whatever else , not forcing yourself into the same.
That way, with different named characters, you are okay with just profile too.
Too bad i can't just delete his character from existence lmao
I already have a " main campaign " where i play solo, but i wanted another solo campaign where i wouldn't have to do Act 1 and half Act 2 all over again with the same character i was playing with my friend, but i'll just create a new one ig it's alright.
Thanks a lot overall :D
Happy to help. I wish you and your friend a great time adventuring!
