Withers is unbalanced and ruins any semblance of difficulty. It’s absolutely ridiculous that at any time you can magically teleport to your camp and have him revive your characters for a tiny amount of money and ALSO RESPEC FOR EVEN LESS! It’s insane that he’s in such an easily accessible area and has such modest fees! He should be in the east difficulty only, maybe in standard and tactician he can still be in but he has to be heavily changed and his fees need to be a lot steeper. Maybe 500 gold for revive now and respec can only be done if you give him 3 soul coins.

Dude ive never even needed to use him once and i have 11 revive scrolls before id go to withers. Respecing is something you might only do once or twice anyway so why javk up the price if you dont have the will power to resist it?

Withers is the only NPC in the game that hasn't tried to have sex with me yet. His romance plot is way too difficult and needs to be nerfed.

Oh I definitely not replaying the same thing over and over until I figure out which build works better for me. Good thing I have Withers to avoid the hassle.

Just don't enter his room in the Dank Crypt. That you did means you want to make use of his services.

Just don't use him? Interacting with him is optional. Control yourself if you think it's cheating or too easy and problem solved.

EDIT: I believe you can also kill him.

You can kill him by a dialogue option. If you haven't picked it the first time it will disappear but it can be done by talking to him with any of your companion that has not already talked to him.

Honestly though the game is so generous with revival scrolls that I've never had the need to use him for revives. I'm nearing the end of act 1 in balanced/normal (doing just about every side quest possible) and I've only had to use 3 scrolls. Still have like 12 or so left and I haven't even bought any.
