equipping a torch is such a pain

I had an epic knife and very rare shortsword just disappear lol. Most of the time it ends up in my inventory but I'm pretty sure that's not how it should work. My biggest gripe with the game so far, other than that absolutely love the game <3

Edit:

I'm aware of torch slots and torch swap button on UI, but this is happening when I equip a torch to the torch slot. It removes the main hand weapon.

Bottom left there are four buttons small. One is for torch. It swaps your offhand with the fourth. It is where the dual wield button is.

Yeah I know that exists, but when you equip a torch it unequips your weapons in your weapon slot.

If you click on "F" or the torch swap button on the ui without a torch equipped, nothing happens, I think it's even grayed out if you don't have a torch equipped. :(

It replaces wherever your torch was in inventory.. so yes you could move it around. Maybe check bags if you have any. Could have dropped it in there.

I agree though it should swap to the torch position on character sheet but the torch is in the inventory highlighted with a symbol so you know which one is equipped.

How do you even pull it out using controllers?

I have to remove and re equip it everytime currently snd thats only if i have a one handed weapon with no offhsnd equipped.

Otherwise it does nothing

I don't play with controller, so not sure how that works. I am guessing it's part of the menu wheel you get when you press L1 or R1 or whatever button it was to get that menu up? Otherwise no clue. :/

You have to long push the up button on the dpad on controller. ^^

I have noticed if you have nothing in the dedicated torch slot and use the torch hotkey, it often unequips your main hand weapon and replaces it with the torch. Perhaps manually equipping a torch in the torch slot will prevent it? I haven't checked.
