And by first areea i mean if u enter from the mouintain pass.
If you enter from the underdark elevator, you end up in a tier2 darkness as i call it.
Torches wont work there.
YOu need lanterns
Multiple instances, the game tells you certain locations where the darkness is too powerful that even lights will not work and no fire can burn there.
There's certain ways to get through this as others in this thread have said. It's apart of the whole story of getting closer to the towers by getting through the thick darkness.
OK. So here's the deal. I discovered it myself. The Moonlantern Pixie if you free her gives you her blessing and then you have protection for the "deeper" shadowcurse. Then she hands you a ball to ring/shake. I always wondered what was the point of that, if she's just already cast the blessing on you. Now I know the answer.
If you go back to Act I areas (Creche etc.) her blessing vanishes. When you come BACK to SCL/Act 2 you need to ring the bell to get the blessing restored. It doesn't stay on.
Torches and light sources work for the "lighter" cursed areas, you need a Moonlantern or pixie protection for the "deeper" curse areas.
The thread is quite old. There are no related bugs to that matter.
