Hardly a fumble as it is a 9th level spell and considered the most powerful spell in 5e, at character levels 5, 6 or 7 you were never going to have the DC required... also you'll most likely have less than 100 hit points which means insta death. Also she is a demi-god so the power level was acceptable and quite humorous.
True, but a level 20 character still kicks a level 5 6 or 7 characters backside. At that level you were never going to win.
It also the place that my first roleplay as monk hold pretty high significance
Bonus point you can reapply the morninglord buff by placing and removing the weapon there every long rest (assuming they not fixed it yet (or its a feature?))
I have way over 100 hitpoints. She also is a lich not a demigod. I never said I wanted to be able to use Wish. I could easily counterspell wish with upcast. It's just a DC of 19 just like in real D&D. Which at level 12 with the feats I have and Dark One's Own Luck...piece of cake.
How are you possibly L12 during this exchange? I did literally everything that could be done in Act 1 and I was L7.
Look there is no counter spell in the game, plain and simple, so your complaint is simply based on counter spell not being added... not even a lot of "real world" DnD tabletop games allow counter spell (so accept it as if Larian is the game master and they are not allowing it), that simple, also the DC of 19 is the base value, a character capable of casting a spell level 9 is going to decimate a lowly level 12 with or without upcast especially if it is a character such as Vlaakith (who I doubt just runs around naked).
Also are you trying to say you completed act 3 and returned to a Act 1 zone, because that is the only way you could of been level 12. As for demi god you are correct, not sure why I said that but I did.
Check again buddy, it's a spell in the game and it's quite useful against summoning or resurrecting enemies.
The way it's worded even makes it potentially usable in the aforementioned situation.
Also, when you cast wish to do anything other than copy a level 8 or lower spell there is a 33% chance to never cast wish again, 1d10 damage every time you cast another spell AND str lowered to 3.
There is counterspell in this game....have you not played it? Completely unmodded you can learn counterspell as a wizard. What are you on about? I'm playing without any mods and I have counterspell on my wizard. Literally everyone is telling you that you're wrong about it being in the game and wrong about the easily hittable DC.
They just flat out fumbled with this whole situation.
