Ulitharid only CR 9 in 5e?

Does that mean if you have a party of 4 level 12 characters you are going to pretty much roll the end boss of bg3? I mean it seems like Ulitharid is what the whole game's story is leading up to in the end.

In BG3, maybe.

In all of 5th edition D&D, no. There are dozens of CR 9 creatures.
Young Dragons, Rot Trolls, Nycaloths, Hydroloths, Fire Giants, Bone Devils, Hags, Flinds, the list goes on.

Oh, I wasn't asking if it was the only cr 9 creature. I was remarking on how it got downgraded to cr 9 in 5th ed.. And questioning how much of a challenge the end boss would be, given it is only cr 9 and your party will probably be lvl 12

1: In didn lethaly decreases with level.
Early fights have always been harder then later fights when you have power and gear.
2: I havent reach it yet but i suspect the end boss is an Elder brain
You will be in for a though fight.
Or Would be but fireball spamm :P
