How to know what items are 'junk'?
Other RPGs I have played had features to tell you what was 'vendor trash' and what wasnt. Does this game have the same or am I missing something? I dont want to sell junk that I have accumulated if it will later be essential to some quest or something, but I dont see a way to know.

Most everything has a use. Unless it's nonmagical equipment (armor, weapons, jewellery) or clearly art (gems, paintings) it'll most likely have a use somewhere in the game... so save those metal bars, ingredients and soul coins. You can stock infinite amounts of stuff at your campsite.

Or check a wiki if it's safe to sell the item.

Oof. Essentially it incentivises picking up EVERYTHING and storing it then? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I hate that.

I do too. I take everything just incase it has a use. Then I'm just cluttered and overwhelmed with things I have no idea what to do with.

Shift click and Ctrl click are your best friends managing inventory.

If it helps you, vendors refresh their inventory but they never delete anything the player sold them as far as I can tell, so worst case you decide you needed something and buy it back

That does actually help, thank you.
Common stuff is best to toss most gems silverware nom magical items, and gear. They sometimes have a use but usually when you need something it's nearby the item you need it for they don't make you scour back 10 zones to get an amethyst or something. Shift clicking let's you select any item in a line so if you click at the too row then shift click the bottom it selects everything between and ctrl click let's you select which items this is useful for sorting marking and managing inventory I often keep a bag for books and stuff then mass toss them into it back at camp if my weight is to much.

Literally case by case.

I feel like if you think an item is too situational for your characters then its vendor trash. It doesn't overall make it trash - a pendant that regains ki doesn't work for a party without a monk but could be helpful to one with - but to me now it's worthless.

Read the tooltip and think how much value will you get out of using it.

Oh my gosh! Me too. I was trying to figure out what was junk. I'm already hoarding and I was hoping I could stop hoarding by just ignoring a large swaff of items. I've been looting everything and now my characters already encumbered and I haven't even made it too far past the beach at the beginning of the game 😅

That's basically the reason why I started the game three times and never progressed 1st chapter. I get tired of junk or reading forums about useless junk. I shelf the game to check this "fun" for a later time.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
