Investigate the Beach - Unable to be completed?

Just curious how I'm supposed to complete this quest if anyone has any ideas!

I'm at the point of having to find Mol - I won the skill checks through Doni early on to enter her hideout and after completing essentially everything in Act 1, I remembered that I had the investigate the beach quest still.
I've just gone back and saved Mirkol at the beach but now that I'm on the next part of the quest "Find Mol" - she just keeps saying "Let me know if any of your stuff goes missing. You're family now." and doesn't let me complete it.

Will this quest be completed later on now when I reach her in Baldur's Gate or am I stuck with an uncompleted quest in my log?

In my case Mol says "Nothing to see, we're clearing out soon." But yes, I'm also stuck.

I completed the quest after finding Mol and getting approval for how I handled the incidents with the other children. Maybe talk to Mirkol in the are before going to Mol.

I hate this broken quest line.
I saved Mirkon from the harpies. I saved the little girl from the snake. I saved the little kid who stole the locket. I gave the grifter kid his fake coin back. But OH GOD FORBID, I grabbed the wrist of the little tramp that picked my pocket.

And now despite saving all those poor kids, because I DARED to grab the wrist of the pickpocket (even though I let her go), now Mol refuses to deal with me. When I speak with her, she doesnt address any of the kids I saved, she only tells me to leave because I grabbed the pickpocket's wrist I am unwelcome. I can make a persuasion check to not be immediately attacked, but she tells me I am unwelcome and offers no further dialogue. The 'Investigate the beach' quest completes, but says "I won't be talking to Mol again!" And even though I passed the Persuasion check to calm her down, all the stupid kids are running around screaming "You're not supposed to be here! Mol help!'

So I lose the quest to steal the idol and everything else all because I didn't want my pocket picked? The messed up marker flags in this questline are ridiculous.

Seems bizarre to me that this bug is still an issue. I've done some looking around and it's been in the game for a couple years now...

This hole quest ark is heavily bugged. When i saved the boy at the beach from the harpys just nothing happens. after all the harpys are dead, the boy just stands there and i cant talk to him. when i go to my camp and then back to the beach, the quest completes with "the boy is save now and left the beach". but so i did not get the connection to Mol.

I think the bug startet by finding mol in early game by open the door of her hideout with a spell from gale. she was not amused at all. and the tieflings wanted to kill me, but i talked my self out of the situation.

But since then MOL vanished. cant find here anymore. not in the hideout and not in the druid city.

You can complete the quest later on. I didn't even know it was bugged, I just forgot about it. The poor lass had some misfortunes too in Act 2, but somehow managed without me (or maybe some of my actions helped her indirectly).

I talked to her in Act 3 and that completed the quest.

For those that can't talk to Mirkon after you save him from the harpies during the " Investigate the beach quest ": Well, the reddit user with the username: " starmanac " had a solution for me! You only have to cast sleep a few times on Mirkon and eventually it works! You can enter dialogue mode with him and complete the quest!

If you can't talk to Mirkon after you save him from the Harpies just explore the area fully. Including the cliffs above the beach. Did this and when I had explored everywhere the quest completed and I got a message that Mirkon was safe and had left the area.

Exploring or sleep didnt work eather. What worked was throwwing him a couple times or cast sleep. That did it for me.

But Mol was still mad and did Not talk to me. (No talking options at all).

Sorry to be late to the party, but if anyone on PC is encountering this bug still, try this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/1149?tab=description. It worked for me on current patch and I uninstalled it after with no issues. Backup your save to be safe. This mod makes it to where if you persuade Mol that you won't cause any issues for your gang, she no longer tells you to leave.
