Distressed Patient
So... how do I free this guy? I figured one of the keys I got from the surgeon or his office might release him, but I can't interact with the table because "Not Enough Space" and talking to him is just him writhing in pain. I can't find a lever anywhere either. Anyone figure out wtf you actually do here?

I was hoping to get something with "detect thoughts", but I guess poor thing had never been intended for anything other than that horrible "intro" scene. All things considerd, the knive was a mercy.

You can use detect thoughts in a lot of interactions just not all of them. And if you fail the roll they get agro cuz you are digging thru their head lol

I even killed the surgeon before any cut scene took place and cleanly killed all enemies without damaging the distressed patient. This left no chance for the surgeon to stab out their eyes like they do in the cut scene.

To my dissapointment, when i talked to the distressed patient, they had their eyes poked out and were in the same distressed state as if the cut scene had played.

Would like to see a better ending to this. Maybe read thoughts and they thank you for your help but wish for you to end their suffering. You then hand them a vial of poison and release them and they quaff the poison down and quitely pass on.

This should not break any oaths and give some better closure. Seems like a loose end currently.

Honestly a Cure Wounds applied so quickly after the injury should bring those eyes right back. If not that, then a Restoration spell. It shouldn't be impossible to cure this guy.

Sigh. Mercy Kill it is then, I guess.

Calm emotions doesn't help either.

I unlocked his restraints, but he just ran ALL OVER THE PLACE like a headless chicken. Opened doors, closed them. Then ran into the main door and popped out of existence.

Since it's highly likely that this game will get a Definitive edition in the future (like past Larian games), hopefully this will be resolved.

I had the pixie's blessing, and initiated combat with the doctor before the cutscene. After killing the doctor, I cast Knock on the chair and let the patient free. He ran off without dying instantly, which I assume is because I had the pixie's blessing. Tried to follow him but he just disappears.

I freed him using dialogue...just used a different character from the one that spoke in the encounter. Then he ran off and disappeared...

I was able to free him.

After choosing the options to first get the sisters to kill each other, then have the doctor kill himself, I just clicked on him and got a scene where he just moans in pain, chose to release him, and then he just runs away.

Wonder if this was an option that was implemented recently.

Yes. In my first playthrough I ended up killing the poor bastard, rather than leave him on the table for the "nurses" to do with him as they pleased.
