Does the Friends Cantrip have no downsides in normal mode?

I can't say I've ever had an NPC get upset at me after using it like in it's description said it would. It does say higher difficulties they might recognize it but idk I guess normal doesn't have any consequences to using it?

if your talking about skills like friends, then no. No downsides. I dont play on the eaisiest difficulty, so I once tried that and the guy stopped the dialog yelled at me, accused me of trying to put a spell on him and now im in combat in the middle of a settlement.

Well it's an Enchantment Cantrip not a skill. I hope we are talking about the same thing. But getting free advantage on pretty much any social skillcheck with an NPC is pretty damn big if it's free. I guess it will only trigger on difficulties higher than normal.

I use it all the time and never saw any downside (on normal difficulty). I think it's probably too powerful as a cantrip. I would sugget that they change it so that you also have to succeed some skill check so that the the NPC won't notice.

I found no downsides on normal difficulty. I fully expected the NPCs to roll a save and succeed now and then, but it never happened.

no doesnt seem to be any consequence on normal, supposedly on tactician some npc's will notice that you cast it and get pissed so you have to be more careful.
