So if she is indeed a bard, she can replace shadowheart in that area.

Short rests, long rests, piles of potions and scrolls every where. Plenty of healing.
Bards, clerics, druids, and paladins can all heal. Paladin is probably the weakest healer, but they can heal. As long as you got one of them, you got options though.
That is not true. Forst of there are many classes with heal abilities besides clerics. Then there are many abilities that give temporary hitpoints that give a buffer from damage.
Also short rests heals everyone and any character can carry potions. Finally you can use terrain and spells/abilities that disable enemies. An enemy allficted by hold person cant attack you and thus does not generate a need for healing.
Also - healing & buffing like there is no tomorrow is always worth it. Spells come with no costs, healing potions aren't unlimited and means of last resort (when cleric is "empty"). Outfitting your cleric with the proper items can further enhance any healing spell - with extra health restored, extra de-poisoning, extra blade ward ... (all with the cleric just casting a heal).
Combine this with re-specing Shadowheart to Life Domain and giving her heavy armor and you are set.
