If they did, people would complain that all the battles are too hard because they can't spam 20 buffs before the battle even started to easily defeat Jon Irenicus. God forbid you ask a BG1+2 fan to engage in tactics and play the board game instead of prebuff then real time deathball everything.

Well actually... Neverwinter Nights is D&D 3.5, and it has a remake of Baldurs Gate and Icewind Dale.

Baldurs Gate 2 is coming soon for a mod to NWN 2 also..

To be fair, in D&D2E and 3E, on pnp people did prebuff a lot. BG didn't invent that, there were already a lot of stuff you could to abuse the system. There is a reason spells got nerfed hard.

As a fan of both TT (I DM) and BG2, I gotta call ya out cos like BG2 is insane with its enemy placement, composition, and enemy pre-buffing ESPECIALLY compared to a TT module of same level range. Yes can cheese, it also cheese tf outta TT and this game too with right tools, but if you're suggesting aren't a large amount of BG2 fans who played game tactically, then I'm gonna say you've never played BG2.

Also TT is prob least combat orientated and tactical of all iterations of DND imho as having any kind of complex combat(without a computer doing heavy lifting for you) is often detriment to group of people who want to ROLE PLAY above anything else, whereas if they're into tactical combat...they'd just stick with BG, etc games.

It would cost a great deal of money to remake those games, how much do you have in your pocket?

Maybe a community project down the long road..

Could they? Probably. Should they? Probably not. I feel confident to guess that a vast majority of people will not accept BG1/2 in turn-based.

No, because you would not be able to Time Stop + spam 5 Skull Traps, Cloudkill and then kill all enemies off screen before they are even aware you exist.

That would be a remake and, not only will Larian not want to do this, they would also not be needed.
