I'm planning on doing an evil playthrough second then a more lawful good/neutral playthrough third
you'll probably be able to, if you aren't then consider starting that fight at a higher level or lowering the difficulty
oh wait you meant on a moral level, uh, that's rough buddy but "I'm going to be evil and do a ton of stabbing" tends to involve actually being evil and doing some stabbing
that said evil =/= completely incapable of friendship or love, you're just going to be ticking off the more altruistic party members and needing to balance plates to keep them from leaving
but yes: Karlach is definitly a reason for a neutral/good playthrough
reminds me of Planescape (no specific character, just the general absurd vibe) most of the time
but frankly playing a power hungry sudo evil character is pretty well done in BG3. you should try it
Going down the "evil path" still makes you be a hero and you lose too much to make it worth it: you lose Karlach and Wyll, and potentially Shadowheart and Gale as well if their approval drops low enough.
