Gold is bugged, beware

I ended up with a goldstack of 5000g after a transaction (no idea why). The game did not recognize this as any gold. When I split the stack it recognized 25% of the gold. Continuing to split I got close to 50% recognized.

Upon reloading a save after the split 50% of my gold just vanished from my inventory. The game robbed me of 2500g through this bug.

Be cautious with large stacks of gold if they occur.

It's funny you should mention this...
Hacked gold has this EXACT same behavior...

However assuming no hacks were used... I will keep this in mind and keep my gold stacks to less then 5k just in case.

I confirm. Same problem. Money are not cheated. i just lost 10k cause of this bug

I found out that you can trade the gold for gold with a vendor, but then the vendor will bug out. It's a nasty bug this one.

Had 19k gold same issue. Split it all into smaller stacks around 2k and the like. Gold started getting recognized. Then just stacked it back together and all was recognized. Weird bug.

Hey I had a similar issue, i will note that i stole alot of gold from enemy merchants, perhaps this is a factor?

Thank god I found this thread. Splitting the gold solved the issue. I think there's a bug with Gerringothe Thorm, (the Toll House) boss fight, since it happened to me after that.

after a save and reload i had 7903 gold that could not be split so used it all at a trader and used it to trade frome scrolls and gold I think the issue is fixed.

Just had an issue where gold sent to camp bugged. Fixed it with a combination of splitting stacks and throwing them on the ground. Got all my gold back

Gold is weird. I had some 200:ish gold as a separate stack from the rest of the gold (not sure about the amount, was awhile back and I didn't pay too much attention), but then I could "barter" that separate pile of gold for something like 2-3x the actual value in gold? Odd :D

I suppose it might've been gold dropped by the optional Boss made out of gold in act 2, not sure.

Noticed at trader that i have like 15 gold showing under character portrait while there was over 3k in inventory O_o

And yea from time to time i get some weird gold not stacking with other.

I sold GT gold to trader and now that trader always have 0 gold tradeable, while that trader have 2400 gold in inventory

I have a different bug. Any gold on the ground i cannot pick up no matter what..
