[spoiler possible] gilded chest in owlbear cave not opening?

I got the paper. Both checks passed. I'm reading the paper. Shadowheart says something about it being useless words and nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Someone with good magic (or religion, I can't remember) knowledge should read the paper next to the chest, in my case it was Gale.
