How do you get Dammon to talk to you?

After pickpocketing him (without ever getting caught) numerous times in the Grove, Dammon now won’t speak to me when I click on him.

I need to talk to him for Karlach’s quest, but all he does is walk around his forge and give ambient dialogue about his tools.

I can still pickpocket him and have a guard accost me but no matter what spell I try left clicking him does nothing. Even with Karlach around.

I saw one other person had this bug, anyone have any ideas or suggestions to fix? I’ve tried killing and respawning my PC, spells to charm, getting caught, etc. Thank you!

Same issue here (GOG version).
Ever since I pickpocketed him he can't be talked with any longer :(

I don't want to progress other quests further since I want to be done with that quest to see what's next with Karlach, but can't. Driving me crazy and lord knows when was my save before I pickpocketed him.

Hope it gets fixed in one of the patches, I'll put the game on hold for now.

Got the same issue. Its completely blocking Karlach’s quest.

Charm doesn't work.
Knocking him out and waiting until he respawns doesn't work.
Getting arrested, stealing again, pushing him, disguising character etc. all don't work.

Tried more than just those, but those come to mind first.
It's like he's permanently stuck in non-interact mode (except stealing or attacking).

If anyone finds a workaround, that'd be great. If not, waiting on bug fix.

EDIT: Short/long rest don't work either, so it doesn't seem to be timed interaction thing either.

I started Karlach's quest very late, actually only the second time I met Dammon... In act 2. If you care about completing it tho... you need to save the lady that protects that place else he won't be able to help

Mol did that to me (ignore completely, just wander around with over-head text, unclickable, no mouse-over indicator either) but i never pickpocketed her. never got fixed, i started new playthrough instead and then it was fine. no idea.

Did you have Karlach in your party when you talked to him? I found that I can't talk to him about the Karlach's quest without Karlach in the party.

That doesn't matter in this case. He can't be interacted with at all (talking at least).
So there are no conversation options whatsoever, as if he's blank NPC that you can just steal from and nothing else.
No dialogue available, doesn't matter who's in party.

But to answer question, yes, she was in my party.
Also tried going to long rest and moving her out, back in, nope, still no dialogue and still waiting on patch to fix it before continuing the game.

npc attidue toward you reset at some point you just need to get to that attidute reset point. unfortuntaly i don't know what triggers the reset.

This is irrelevant. Even if someone has poor attitude with you, you can still start conversations with them. This bug is unrelated to that.

+1, same issue - I pickpocketed this guy in Emerald Grove, now he's basically mute in the Last Light's Inn. Whenever I load a save from just entering the grove, I can see there is a trigger for a scene (when Karlach is in my team) - the quest updates and game stutters for a second, but it does not go though. I checked about every spell at my disposal, unfortunately nothing was able to "reset" him.
