Don't have to turn on god mode or anything if you don't want. Can just slightly edit char stats, or jump a few levels if you want.
Play the game however you want and find fun personally.
Personally, I use a trainer and couldn't care less about doing so. I shouldn't, have, to do that, but when the game is missing hits like crazy and dealing out tons of damage to my party members, I choose to draw a line.
I have no interest in a challenge and personally, wish that the explorer mode were more forgiving.
Good for you. Don't let the "git gud" people that can't think of anything more than memes to spout and nothing original or of any value to say tell you how to play the game you bought and doing so has ZERO effect on their ability to play how they want.
There is for instance a party size mod, with half an army at your side and a bit of a balanced party you should still feel a bit of a challange (if you dont have much knowledge about D&D in general), but you have a lot more lienway .
I'd never play any game on the easiest difficulty, but I think it's an entirely valid complaint if it is not so easy a monkey could do it. Even the name of the difficulty setting implies that it is for people who just want to see the story without any challenge.
Or, to put it another way, those of us who enjoy a challenge in our games gripe like mad when the hardest difficulty is super easy. This is the same thing, from the other side.
Explorer / easy in this game is harder than:
- The entirety of Final Fantasy Tactics
- The entirety of Suikoden Tactics
- The entirety of Disgaea, and that one definitely had some difficulty spikes.
So to me, I feel that the OP's complaint is very valid. Nothing against anyone who wants a challenge, but easy shouldn't be that bad, and no one should get shamed for playing a, video game, on easy.
There is also a multiplayer workaround to get 3 custom companions + a certain NPC you can get for your camp sells hirelings and class change (you and companions can make use of the class change). Google got tutorials for you. The workaround still works with the release version.
