PSA on Gale and Magic Items.

You DO NOT need to feed him a bunch of magic items. Only give him an item (rarity doesn't matter) the first time he asks, then wait until you see the Arcane Hunger status effect. you only need to give him a total of 3 magic items during Act 1. Without going into spoilers, there is a solution to his problem that'll present itself.

Thanks for confirming. I literally gave him 1 magic item and then an hour later he asked for another.

Started to get worried he would keep asking so early in the game when I barely had items...

Hopefully he stops after 3 like you said until I get to the solution.

You are correct that you don't need to feed him. I found a way to feed him no items that works 100% every time and won't be patched.

Leave him in the wall.

He still gets the Arcane Hunger effect if you just leave him in camp.

Only give him an item if you see the Arcane Hunger Status, even if he pesters you for an item before then.

Meh there are enough items to give him that I don't need to worry. There is even vendor trash you can buy to feed him. ezpz

yeah, plenty of low rarity stuff you can find too. more or less made this post to quell the people that were complaining about Gale eating all of their items.

I feel like he asked me for more than 3 items and I didn't even play with him that much. That said there is plenty of trash items to be able to feed him and it's not a big deal. What is hugely annoying though is when an item says you can give it to him in its description but then you actually can't when the give item box pops.

I hadn't reached this part yet where he mentions needing items, but can someone simplify for me what the game considers "magic items" that work for him? I only have this one green item and do not want to feed him that... while rest of my items are white text. Are magic items green, blue, or what?

I just found the Necronomican in a basement and it says I can feed it to him.

I am wondering since it is an orange item if it will sate him longer or if it is so evil it will give him food poisoning or something like that.

Yea, I noticed that not all green items have the tooltip to feed to him which means I need to be careful of this. I finding new things but they have such nice passives that I hate to feed him those things.
