- both: have the same amount of spell slots (max 4 per rank)
- wizard: can learn ALL spells by level up / scrolls
- sorc: can learn 1 spell / level and replace 1 old spell but also has sorc abilities like twin casting, draconic background gives base 13 ac (no need for mage armor), because basing on charisma he is also used for trading (better prices) and dialog skills
Ingame you can use the sorc for trading, dialog checks and dual casting haste on group member, especially if you have 2 fighter like classes. If you plan to use another group memeber for charisma related things the only pro point crumbles down to dual haste casting which is easily destroyed by enemy attacks (on tactician it seems every f*cker wants to disturb your concentration buffs asap).
2) Metamagic, for example you can get 2 spell casts per round.
3) Draconic bloodline is really strong, 13 AC, extra hitpoints and a bunch of damage to your chosen element.
But yeah Wizard absolutely is the more versatile caster. Especially in this game since you can swap around spells wihout having to rest.
But as far as pure blasting goes Sorcerer is better. Though if you just want to blast might as well go with Warlock.
Edit: twinned also work with some scroll and equipment ability and easy to refill
