locking threads about asexuality

why? the moderators keep saying they're doing it cause it's devolved into an unproductive conversation but it feels more like they just want to silence the asexual members of the LGBTQA community. what does steam or larian or steam's moderators have against us that we can't have an open discussion on these forums about how we don't like how obnoxious the game is being shoving sexual innuendos or content in our face? how is it any more unproductive to point out that we exist and this stuff bothers us than it is for all the threads about how hard or easy the game is because people hate the dice rolls?

why can't we talk about how we don't want to feel like sexual content is being shoved in our faces in this game? how is that unproductive? i literally made a thread before the game launched asking if romance stuff was going to be optional, was assured by members of the community that it would be, then after launch, i see a bunch of threads of people complaining about how overt and repeated it is. how forced it feels. that's the opposite of what i was told the game experience was going to be. i don't see how it's unproductive to discuss something like that. if a steam moderator wants to lock my thread, could you at least do me the courtesy of telling me why you think it's productive? cause i'm going to challenge you on it and ask you why it is anyway.

asexual people are always overlooked, but we are technically part of the LGBT community whether we see ourselves as such or not. we don't ever ask for things. this is the first game i've seen other asexual people such as myself coming out and complaining about how forced the romance and sexual content feels. instead of immediately locking the discussions because you have some sort of bigotry against the topic or us altogether, could you try and repress that feeling and let us actually have a discussion among ourselves instead of repressing our ability to discuss this problem with the game?

Asexuality, like everything else, is a spectrum. You also do have the option to draw the line physically. No, it doesn't seem like there's an option for aromantic folk, but asexuals, yeah. You can reject and draw lines.

That thread in particular was a troll thread, the individual who posted it was just looking to stir up hate. It was locked for that reason, I read the replies before it was locked and 100% agree with the decision.

I don't think they were trying to silence anyone except for the guy calling people slurs and admitting to attempted ban evasion (that went well for them, lol).

If you want a thread addressing your concerns, then make one. I support you.

The sexual aspects of the relationships with your companions are easy to reject and avoid if that’s what you want. I’ve come to discover it’s really not that bad. In fact, I don’t even mind it all.

If you actually immerse yourself in the world and attempt to understand why some of these characters are so hyper sexual. You may come to find that it’s not just humans being the naturally highly sexual creatures that they are.

Think about it: If you had a mind flayer tadpole stuck in your head, on the cusp of what could be your last day alive, wouldn’t you want to enjoy every moment, potentially finding some love, and happiness, in your last days?

I know I’m probably not going to sway any opinions here, but thinking of it in this way actually helps make the game even more enjoyable for me.
