Just bump difficulty up temporarily while at camp and then respec into a multi-class using Wither's services and then finally bump the difficulty down afterwards. Presto! You are multi-classed in explorer mode.

If you're able to undersrand multiclass and pull it off without gimping yourself- you're very much good enough to play on balanced mode at least. The difficulty involved in managing that is less than the difficulty of balanced mode as a whole.

You can cheat it though, by changing the difficulty, respecing, and saving and then swapping back difficulties I believe.

Oh wow, This has to be the stupidest thing ever. Lets deny multi-class cus your playing on storymode.
Absolutely mental!

Or, they're doing that because it can be assumed that the person is new and doesn't want to have to juggle multiclassing ontop of everything else? Think of multiclassing as a difficulty modifier unlocked by increasing the difficulty

Story mode is meant for people new to dnd. Why would they throw more complicated options towards newer players?

So we can confirm that you can do the "go to higher difficultly" and change it back thing?
