Wrong, if you use a controller you can move around the camera like this.
It's funny that you mention Dragon Age, because besides DAO using RTWP instead of turn based the games are very very similar in scope and ability.
Of course. It's a console-first game after all.
And the fact BG3 is not a MMO, is one reason I am really enjoying it. The rng for loot? No issue at all. Makes it more interesting. It does hurt the Youtubers guildies from posting go here to get this. But there are quests which give a certain reward.
The UI is how it is suppose to be. It's combat is a tactical turn base type. You can't compare it to WoW.
I disagree with every negative point you made about the game. It's not the game you are looking for. Move on.
Fair enough. Enjoy. There is so much good content in this game it's a shame that they did not make it more accessible to a wider audience.
"besides these key things: fun gameplay, good game, they're basically the same thing"
Huh
I played all Dragon Age games, Origins is one of my favorite games ever made. I loved it and still do. But BG3 seems to be better for me, even I prefare the companions from DAO.
It´s a DnD Game, of course there are dice involved. It´s your mistake, if you weren´t informed about that. If you don´t like it, that´s totally fine. But I don´t blame Fifa to use balls!
Again, you should have known that before. I did and I love it!
I love the camera, the UI and the movement! Again: It´s not an MMO or a Witcher Game!
Solasta and BG3 did a perfect job to give us DnD in a video game. If you don´t like it, don´t buy it, don´t play it!
I played and enjoyed them all, I still love BG3, also there is no comparison between the games you mentioned, they are different in every possible way.
WASD are literally the default keys to move the camera around and you just click where you want your party to go. If that confuses you... I really don't know what to tell you.
Another comparison that shouldn't exist:
Civ its a 4x/management game that tasks you with choosing a given set of limited choices, this is an entire world that offers you the freedom to approach situations the way you want, you need time to observe and act carefully.
Also "an RPG of this type" it's what gave birth to the rpg genre, Role Playing Game means exactly that... immerse yourself in a world in every way, doesn't mean get in there and mindlessly slay everything that moves, except you can still do that if that's your dream.
I spent almost 20 hrs in and only clicked twice, by accident, on a teammate instead of where I wanted to.
"gambling" with dice it's the foundations of DnD, why would you even buy a DnD based game if you don't like the concept of dice rolls?
This game it's too complex for you, and that's fine, but you are doing the equivalent of buying DOOM eternal complaining that there is no turn based combat.
Next time, before buying a game, do more research on what kind of product it is.
Lmao.
RTWP combat is ♥♥♥♥, i hated it in BG2 and i hated it in DAO. The only reason i played DAO was because of the companions. The story in DAO was also cooky cutter high fantasy trope (archdemon and darkspawn hordes).
BG3's combat and overarching story is superiour, DAO has better companions though.
