BUG (?) Karlach Romance (SPOILER!!!)

To keep it short and simple: Recruited Karlach, got the Metal and brought it to the Tiefling Blacksmith. After that nothing happend really, beside that i got the updated info that we "need to wait" so the Blacksmith find a solution for Karlachs Situation. (No Kiss Scene whatsoever) The only thing that happend was the Wyll vs Karlach Stand-off. (I was already in the greens area with the bar)

THAT was my playtrough as a half-elf Warlock, however i played before a Dragonborn Sorcerer/Dragonmagic, can recommend gives you pretty cool skin pattern, also romanced Karlach and got WAY further - until to the point where you have to "cool her off" with a Waterspell.

Did i encounter a Bug or does the game actual recognise that i played as a Dragonborn/Dragonmagic (Ice/Fire Comb.) Sorcerer and thats why i could go so far with Karlach in Act 1?

If you know something guys, pls let me - thanks!

You can get karlach two upgrades, do a long wait in camp, then go back to the smith

I know that there are is more then one upgrade but do you have any idea why i could proceed the Karlach Romance as a Dragonborn further then as a Half-Elf? In both playtroughs i had only one upgrade

Could be the whole "I can't touch people or they melt" thing...

Have you checked your quest log?

I think it said for me that i also had to wait to visit dun.. dunnan? or something again in baldur's gate.

What is the actual bug you are talking about? That you're not getting to bang Karlach? Because she does that if she likes you with only just the repair at tiefling blacksmith.

FYI i also haven't had any new romance advancement with Shadhowheart after cleaning up the goblin camp and helping the tieflings so i'm not sure if it's normal or not. I only had a kiss with her and some wine.

Dragonborn Playtrough: Got until the point i had to use a Water Spell to "cool her off" so we could try to proceed - which failed of course. Like i mentioned i played a Dragonborn (Sorcere) with Dragonmagic (Fire Ancestor) ... so maybe that does effect the early Romance with Karlach? If it does i would be quiet impressed tbh that Larian took that in consideration, since as a Fire Ancestor Dragonmagic-User you have a little Fire Resistance.

Half Elf Playtrough: Brought the metal plate to the blacksmith and after that nothing happend anymore, beside that there are more upgrades for her and we should get them.

Felt like i locked myself out of her romance, even tho i did gave the same answers as in my Dragonborn Playtrough. I also let several days "pass" by doing long rests, persuaded other story arcs and did then long rests but it didnt change anything - the only two things i could ask Karlach was: How she feels with the machine and how she ended up with it. (paraphrasing now, cant remember 100 % what the words where)

NOTE: In both playtroughs i was still in Act 1 and hadnt finished the Goblin Fortress.

For some reason after the first infernal iron no romance scene happens, I even got to the second time you give her infernal iron and she seemed excited to do something but nothing happened so I just reloaded a save where I haven't done that yet since I honestly just wasn't sure what was going on. Plz I don't want to have to reset my entire game, although I am willing for her.

NOTE: Please take the following with a grain of Salt since i dont have enough evidence to back it up.

Regarding my problem: The mistake was that i went straight for the metal, instead of going first to the black smith and then looking for the metal. Seems like the game gets confused when you are doing it that way, instead of Talking with Karlach -> Blacksmith -> Village -> Blacksmith.

However regarding your issue: The key events, i assume, are kissing her after the second metal and telling her that you are looking forward to be with her afterwards. After that it took me around 3 long rests until Karlach approached me for some sexy time - hope this does help you!

I haven't figured out why I'm locked out of romancing Karlach. I got both upgrades for her but no dialogue hints at romance even though her approval is super high. Gale, Wyll, everybody wants a piece but I wanted to romance her. There's a reddit thread here that mentions maybe a scene in act 2 is the problem

When given the options, have you chosen the "I wish I could touch you" etc lines? Did you initiate any flirting during the Act 1 party? She is pretty hardcore monogamous so you have to pursue her EXCLUSIVELY
