Question about rogue's weapons of choice (dual wielding)
Sooo I've been dual wielding weapons with my rogue (Astarion) because that is basically my rogue-fantasy and in the middle of Act 2 my enemies suddenly drop a REALLY amazing Shortsword (which basically rerolls if you roll a 2 or lower - like wtf). And now I'm thinking: Have I been gimping myself dual wielding daggers the entire time? Astarions damage has been far from bad but should I have been dual wielding shortswords? Or even real swords?

What am I missing? I obviously want to dual wield something that has Finesse - can I dual wield rapiers?

Can someone please shed a light on this?

Bump - anyone?

Yes.
Short swords are just better than Daggers unless you have a specific dagger like a +1 dagger is better than a regular short sword.

for none light weapons you need a feat...so for dual rapiers you need a feat but for short swords you do not. other than that there is no limit...

I heard that you're able to double wield Rapiers with the perk / feat which is coming with a specific level, which is my goal right now.. If its not possible then i would be sad .. so i'll lurk now and look what others might know.

So optimal equippment for melee rogue is basically dual wielded shortsword (or dagger if the dagger's effect outweights its loss in damage) + the Fighting Style that adds dmg modifier to your offhand attacks?

if you don't find a great epic broken OP dagger they are bad normally.. You can't even throw them with dex like could in EA For some reason they use STr modifiers at least when i had dumped str. Need to do a bit more testing...

They still apply sneak attack damage though and it adds ring of fling extra throw damage to sneak attack as well so that's a nice 2x extra boost to damage on them...but again problem is the attack scales off str...:(
Second problem is there is effective way to dip throw weapons cos the system is half made.
