Playing as Karla'ch and siding with Minthara

I sided with Minthara as Karla'ch and I killed Dammon, the Tiefling Smith. The quest for my Infernal Engine is completed when he died, and it tells me that I have no other choice but to go back to Avernus.

Can someone just tell me (without spoiler), if there will be a solution in the future or if i have broke my game ?

i think you broke you game, Karlach was suppose to be a good side only character, you have to pull some major jiu jitsu to have both minthara and Dammon alive.

If the quest didn't fail or complete, then there will be another way to complete it in the future.

For me it said something i should go find him in baldurs gate for the "second upgrade" or something but the dude is still hammering away in the druids grove lmao.

I gave him the first infernal iron. But then he died when i sided with Mintara, it tells me "I have no other solution, i have no other choice but going back to Avernus" and it's written completed. But I can still continue my game, i just wonder if i'll be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up later to know if it's impossible to side with Mintara as Karla'ch

I'm pretty sure the "I have no other choice but to go back to Avernus" refers to what'll eventually happen during your ending after the final boss of Act 3, not to some kind of soon-to-occur unavoidable game-over akin to Gale going thermonuclear if you leave him dead for too long.
So you probably haven't "broken" the game per-se, but you've likely locked yourself into only that one ending unless you become a mind flayer during the finale.

the "you must go back to avernus" is the same ending even if you keep Hammon alive. Siding with Minthara changed nothing. As someone mentioned, you can make a choice at the end which gets rid of your engine. That choice is always there regardless of what you do. So is going back to Avernus. Nothing changes by doing Minthara
