How do you beat the hag?
This fight seems too hard for me at my level, but i guess i'm just doing something wrong. I'm completely new to these games, should i have someone in the group who mainly focuses on healing? Or am i missing something else, can anyone give me any beginners tips?

Wait. Why do people fight her in her den? Is it different from the EA? I killed her outside of her house in EA even before she attacked me. But I played ranger and NPCs were always stalking my pets. So she just followed my pets to the swamp where I attacked her. I killed the little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ prior to this, so she had no support.

I went through the poison bits with my necro, using my skeleton to stop the toxic fumes.

Then when I got to her I pre-cast Silence into the area where she spawns. When the fight began she failed the saved and was not able to immediately split into copies.

From there I cast Flaming Sphere right next to her using my wizard, and Spiritual Weapon using Shadowheart. Ran Karlach (sp?) into the fray along with the zombie (Shadowheart's) that I used to trigger the fight, while having my undead archer up off to the side. My wizard and Astarion chucked spells / arrows, respectively.

The hag got out of the Silence circle just in time for Karlach to finish her off. It was really quite easy.

Granted I waited until level 5 to do the fight, so I was able to do this.

You can push the hag into the chasm.

Also, magic missile deals with the multiple copies. You can deal with her in 2 turns if you prepare a little for the fight. High wisdom char scouting (showheart!) can help you spot her and allow you to start the party rather than trigger the ambush. Have your mage hiding in a corner, with magic missile ready to go. (There is a handy ledge!) You are going to need a fast and strong char (either Karlach or Laezal) to make a quick move. Bump and off she goes.
i keep doing this with all the "bosses" problem is that you lose the loot.

I've just repeated the stategy I did in the EA but playing as warlock instead of ranger. Killed all redcaps. Lured her out of the teahouse with Astarion's minor Illusion where my party ambushed her(which wasn't necessary because she died before she could escape):
1. Sneak attack by Astarion.
The battle triggers, the hag goes invisible.
2. Fireball from Gale makes her visible and takes a good chuck of HP.
3. Eldritch blast.
4. Guiding bolt.
She dies.
No prebuffs, no consumables. Didn't even use all of my actions, but I was 5 lvl.

Potion of speed is your friend. It's not even a fight, really. Just use Gale or scroll of MaMi to kill the clones and hit her with everything you have. Just leave her with few hp to get sweet +1 to ability :3

Thanks for the advice everyone, appreciate it. I'll try to beat the hag with the tips you've given me.

Well, well, well... Gues who just beat the hag? This guy.

My group beat her at level 3:
1. Spore druid - Cast flaming sphere to follow her around, while also hitting her with shillelagh and hitting distanced clones with cantrips.
2. Tempest Cleric - Followed her with inflict wounds/guiding bolt and 2h greatsword (fire).
3. Thief Rogue - Kept nearby to multiattack with duel wield, but also used a bow to take out ranged foes.
4. Gale - Definitely the MVP. Cast witchbolt and it succeeded. No matter how many times she teleported or turned invisible, the witchbolt stayed on her and we could continue to apply damage with it.

Not the best run, but witch bolt was pretty clutch so we knew which one to hit hard and which ones to just do a quick attack.
