crashing to desktop? Blue screens? FIXED!

i was crashing to desktop or worse, getting blue screens of death about every 5 min

found a solution on Reddit that WORKS. tested. looks like there were leftover files from early access that didn't get cleaned out. get rid of them and you're gucci baby.

you will, however, lose your save.

FIXED - I suppose there were some remaining files from EA.
Task Bar > %appdata%
Then went to file directory This PC > Local Disk(C:) > Users > (Username) > AppData > Local > Larian Studios > Baldur's Gate 3 > PlayerProfiles. Delete EVERYTHING.Also check Mods tab to make sure it's empty.Then I did a full file validation which only took 5 minutes. Game has been running smooth on Ultra with no crashes since.

why is this thread not closed or deleted? it's telling you to delete your save files in a lame attempt to troll i guess

DO NOT DO THIS. This has NOTHING to do with current bugs. All this will do is delete your save data. Check the dates on the files yourself and you will see they are all the same date you made your character. Nothing is "left over" or even the cause of a previous bug. It might have worked for Beta testers but currently will do nothing
