Hirelings aren't really companions, though.
A Dragonborn, yes. But not an actual companion that can adventure with you. Unfortunately.
And there were plenty in bg1 and bg2. Disappointing.
I honestly don't even know why I bring the companions instead of my shorties hireling posse out with me.
I feel like companions bring very little to the table outside of camp mode. I expected better
Although the act 3 Dragonborn that works for the grumpy blacksmith is hilarious and always makes me chuckle, I think she would have been alot of fun as a companion
